Teachers or Spies

送上一束花——- 也得讲英语 

 We are here at Gateway 

Language Village to learn English.  

Of course This is not 

the first time for me to learn 

English,but the reason I want to 

mention  

is that this time of our world are

teachers, and they are foreign 

teachers!  (Not exactly all of them 

are.)   

The first day we came here, we were told that this is a total immersion English 

course.To tell you the truth, I didn’t understand it properly at first. 

Today is my third day here, and I really get the meaning now.  We are not allowed 

to say even a single Chinese word here. The “SPEAK ENGLISH NLY” reminders

are everywhere. The teachers here are all acting as spies. 

 
    这些侦探们，摇身一变是老师

 After class, you can still find 

some teachers sitting in the hall, 

eating in the dining room, and 

watching TV in the TV room.  

Even worse, we all are arranged 

to share the same apartment 

with a certain teacher. 

 (Worse for YOU?  What 

do you think the teachers are 

thinking?) 

You can easily get a few warnings here. For example, I went to dinner this 

evening, and I got one warning.  The waitress in the Canteen can’t speak English clearly.

She tried to explain to me that there was not enough food, and that I would 

have to wait a Moment to get my food.  

 Unfortunately, I was caught by a teacher.  She warned me that I only could use

 body language if the waitress couldn’t speak English.Look, our world is full of 

these spy teachers.  (You better believe it, baby.)  

Now you see what a difficult life we have here.  I really want to 

protest,but what is confusing to me is that we try to do our best to

别说，还真让我能开口了

Take the time and have paid quite 

an expensive fee just for this 

environment, And The Problem is , 

This environment Works Quite well!  

Many students couldn’t speak at 

the beginning, and they are starting 

to speak English now. 

 I only have two weeks here.   

One thing is quite certain: I will miss it here. 

I would like to introduce this place to everybody who wants to learn how to speak

 English .  Gateway LanguageVillage is just the right place.  

(And she even calls it “Gateway Language Village.”)
