简述 :I should learn and study.
I’m just nothing in this wonderful world.
So, keep on moving. Or maybe I should run a little faster,
to defeat the Mercedes Huang that lived yesterday.
Thank you for hearing me out.

    William是一个好老师

Teacher William really set us up to do a crazy task that I have never heard of before. But I took the challenge willingly and finished it satisfactorily.

Yesterday, I went into the Field Coffee Restaurant that lies on the other side of our GLV school, and the waitress greeted me whit a nice smile of course, saying some common words in Chinese. Then, the story began.

I gave her a smile in return, asked slowly and doubtfully, “Excuse me, can you speak English? I don’t know Chinese at all!”

She was a little bit shocked. But she tried to greet me in English, “What can I do for you?” She said haltingly.

Felling a bit surprised, I started talking to her. “OH! I’m so happy because I’ve found a restaurant where the waitress can speak English finally! I’m able to order something to eat! Thank you !....”

           向你敬个礼--我的蓝天梦

“So, how many people … in your …party..?” She asked.

I got her meaning and show her my index finger for the signal. “Just me. I just need a table for two. Thanks.”

She led me to the window seat, suggested that I could sit there because it was brighter.

Just at that moment, I saw teacher ED and some others teachers from GLV sitting near the window! Being afraid to be recognized, I turned around quickly and said that I preferred a table far from the windows.

How kind-heart she was to said again, “here is cold (It’s cooker here) .”  I had to insisted on my opinion, anyway.

After she gave me the menu, I asked what the specially was on the day. She didn’t understand even I had repeated and explained it for twice. Instead, she greeted me again, “What do you want?”

“In fact, I don’t feel like eating. I don’t have a good appetite today. Maybe some dessert or something to drink. Can you recommend something?”

Then she made some suggestions just by pointing at the menu, “They are delicious!” “Many people like this one.”…

Maybe my fastidious diet habits made her uncomfortable and embarrassed by her poor English(but I didn’t mean to), I order a cup of papaya flavored milk shake, and a strawberry flavored waffle.

    “Anything else?” She added.

“No, thanks. I’ll let you know if I need.” I replied whit a pleased smile.

I was writing in my journal while having delicious dinner. That the reason the waitress took my white lie for granted. Ha Ha!

After finish the dinner, I asked, “Could I have the bill, please? How much is the total?”

           英语-职业舞台上基本技能

But the waiter who brought me the cash holder just told me that I should pay 38 Yuan in Chinese. I pretended to be confused, and forced a bitter smile.

Just that moment, the manager came up to us, reminded the waiter kindly, “She don’t know any Chinese.” And told me the number I should pay friendly.

I felt I had done a fantastic task after walking out of the restaurant. My friends often consider me to be the worst actress, due to my fear of being discovered. But now, I may have the potential for winning the Oscar.

Though this experience, I realized the important of English in our dairy lives again. I hope that the waiters and the waitresses could be reminded of the situation too. Without English, no matter in which field of this society, you must be disadvantage, and fall behind the others.

As a matter of fact, China is developing faster after joining the WTO. Foreign trade plays an important part in business. If we weren’t able to communicate whit the foreigners very well, we would lose many opportunities and benefits.

    超越昨天的我们自己

At present, there are still some difficulties for non-Chinese-speaking people to lead a convenient life in China. But we can take action to improve ourselves, in order to help develop our nation.

Especially for our teenagers, English is more than just a foreign language. And for myself, it’s a skill that I should put into practice not only in my dairy life, but also in my career. Because English is my major, and being an interpreter is my dream.  In order to achieve my destination in my life, I must make good use of professional English as a tool of helper.

I’ve made some progress in recent years. It worth a little praise ha ha. But I admit that there are still many things I should learn and study. I’m just nothing in this wonderful world. So, keep on moving. Or maybe I should run a little faster, to defeat the Mercedes Huang that lived yesterday.

Thank you for hearing me out.
