希望自己学有所成 |
I was not good at English when I was in high school and university even though I have passed the CET-4 and CET-6. I didn’t speak even one complete sentence in English before I got my Bachelor’s Degree and I didn’t like English at all at the time. However, I found out that I have to rely on English to find a good job after graduation, and so, I started to learn English by myself.

Before I came to GLVHZ, I thought learning English might be my short cut to success and might lead to a high paying job. I believe most students at GLV also shared the same perspective before they came to GLV. However, something happened to me which totally changed my mind about learning English. That was the teachers of GLV, especially my main class teacher – Sandra Lee. She guided us to learn and enjoy western music, western arts and western history.

We were learning language, and learning something much more interesting behind that as well. I was fascinated by all the fabulous information I got everyday. Furthermore, the way she taught us was really helpful. In the second week of the training session, each of us was required to make a speech. We chose the topic by ourselves and guided the classmates to talk about it in depth.
Now, I pay more attention to arts, music and history which I never care about before. Finally, I realize that I do like English. Learning English can change your life.
