I like my study at GLV

“Your written English is perfect.” This was my teacher’s impression to me. I have leaned English for about 10 years, but My spoken English and listening are still poor. I always write and write and seldom speak and listen. This is a big problem for us who grow up under Chinese education system.

 

When I studied English in GLV, where it is famous for its total immersion experience. At the beginning I often prepared to make a sentence and a speech in my mind every time for a long time. But when I got ready to speak, the teacher said time was over and we stop speaking. I often lost an opportunity to speak. My classmate’s grammar was not good, but she dared to speak. So her expression ability was better than mine. I know I should improve my self-confidence to speak out.

 

 

Listening skill is to grasp the key words and half understanding and half guessing. When I heard a sentence before, I always tried to catch every word clearly. But I got one word clearly and missed the other words so that I couldn’t understand a sentence. Now I grasp some key words in one sentence, it’s easy to understand it. And they are usual some words with stress. When we hear a new word, we don’t try to remember its meaning. We should continue listening. Maybe we understand the whole meaning at last and we would guess the word’s meaning.

Speaking skill is to speak out and listen well. If we have a good listening, we can communicate with others. We often have a conversation with a native speaker.

4.      Perfect pronunciation

5.      Ability to express one’s mind

6.      Retelling

“你的英语写作非常棒！”这是我的老师对我的印象。我知道我学英语已经有差不多10年的历史了，但是我的英语听说不是特别的好。我经常写啊写啊，几乎从来不去说，不去听。这对于在中国教育体制下成长起来的我们每个人，都是一个非常大的问题。

 

我在ＧＬＶ学习英语。听说训练是最重要的。我经常会犯这样的错误，那就是我每次都习惯花很长一段时间，在大脑中翻译好一个句子，然后才敢说出口。但是当我开口的时候，老师告诉我时间到了。所以我经常浪费了开口的机会。我的同学，她的语法不是很好，但是她敢于开口，所以她的表达能力比我强。我想我应该提高我的自信，努力地去开口说英语。

 

We are a big family

    听力技巧就是抓住关键词，然后猜测句子的意思。以前，当我听到一个句子，我总是试图听清楚每一个单词。但是当我搞清楚一个词的时候，我错过了其它的单词，导致我听不懂整个句子。现在，我只要抓住句子里的关键词，就能非常容易地掌握句子的意思。这些关键词通常都是句子的重音所在。当我们听到一个新的单词，我们不必要去努力地记它的意思，我们应该继续听下去。也许我们最终可以理解整个句子的含义，然后我们回过头来可以猜猜那个单词的意思。

 

怎样提高听力水平？

１、足够的词汇量

２、正确的发音

３、不断地去听，比如ＣＣＴＶ－９

 

表达技巧就是在听明白的同时要能说出口。当我们有了很好的听力水平，我们就可以和其他人交流。在ＧＬＶ，我们经常和母语是英语的朋友聊天。

６、重述的能力

 

　　一句话，词汇量和发音非常重要。多听，多说，并且不断地坚持下去，我相信将来我们都能说一口流利的英语。
