We have all kinds of expectations during our lifetime. Imagine there is an apple tree with many red apples. Expectations are just like apples in the tree. Some apples are on the very low branches that can be reached easily. Some are on higher branches. And you must jump up to pick. There are other apples on the top of the tree, which you can’t reach even if you jump for many times.
In my opinion, the appropriate expectations should be the apples that you can jump to reach. It doesn’t mean the least thing that you should expect and it’s now a mirage which can’t come true. Given you are a blacksmith, but you hope one day the iron under your hammer becomes gold. We could say your expectation is too great.
If you have graduated from a certain university or college, and your salary expectation is only 800 or 1,000 RMB. I think this expectation is too small to you,to your education. If our goals are so easy that we can make very easily, they are not good to our lives.
During our limited life, we should make use of our time and energy to achieve our expectations. When we get old, we will feel happy because we have appropriate expectations and we achieve them through making efforts. Life will become meaningful.

在人的一生中，我们拥有太多的各种各样的期许。试想，一棵结满红苹果的苹果树上，期望就是那红色的苹果。有些苹果结在非常低的树枝上，很容易摘到。有些却在高高的树枝上，你必须努力地攀爬才能摘到它。还有一些苹果高悬在树尖，无论你如何努力，都不能碰到。
我认为，恰当的期许应该就是那些你努力就会摘到的苹果，而并不是那些最不可能实现的东西，不是用不可能实现的海市蜃楼。假如你是一个铁匠，但是你希望有一天你锤子下的铁块变成金子，我们只能说你的“梦想”太伟大了！
如果你从某所大学毕业，你的工资期望只有800元到1000元每月，我认 为这个期望值对你、对你所接受的教育来说太低了。如果我们给自己的期望值太低，很容易实现，对我们的人生发展不是很有利。
在我们有限的生命里，我们应该充分利用我们的时间和精力去实现我们的梦想。这样当我们老了，我们会因为有了合适的期望并通过我们的努力实现了它们而欣慰。生活因此而会更精彩。
