My way

This is an amazing process：

＂A，B，C，…，D，E，F，G，…，I can sing my ABC．＂This famous song made the first and deepest impression on me about English.．I could sing this song when I was three．

And I just knew several basic English sentences at that time，such as＂Good morning.＂，＂Good night.＂，＂How are you？＂，and obviously，＂Fine，thank you.And you？＂，but I couldn＇t write any of them. I learned them from some TV programmes for kids．

When I entered primary school，I met my first English teacher，Ms.Chen．She was very strict and quizzed us every English class．If you failed，you had to go to her office to recite the whole examination paper after school．And I was never in that situation，I always got the highest score in her class．So Ms. Chen liked me very much，she thought of me as a clever and studious girl．

  I was always the student who got the highest scores in middle school，but just for English．

I thought I was a genius and that I would always be the best without making any effort．That’s the reason why I was so arrogant during high school．And then,my parents and teachers were  bitterly disappointed in me．But I didn’t care．Actually，I failed the college entrance examination．

I was totally in shock.，and refused to talk to anybody．A few days later，my father came into my room and said，＂My dear，I’m very sorry about your exam，but you know what，it’s not the end，it’s just the start！There will be thousands of difficulties that you have to deal with in the rest of your life，so it’s necessary for you to be strong enough to solve such difficult problems．My daughter is tough，right？＂I just burst into tears．

In the end，my daddy asked me if I’d like to go abroad to study．I stopped crying and thought about it for a while：it might be a good chance for me to study abroad.．Afterwards，I nodded to my dad．

  It was anything but satisfying to me when I was at an English training school in Shanghai，because almost all of the students could speak English fluently and chat with others in English easily．But I，actually，spoke English just like a pupil！It just made me more incommunicative．

  For the IELTS exam，I only got 4.5 in speaking！I’ve never been so frustrated．I spent a whole week lying on my bed and thinking what I should do．I must reignite my passion for learning English！

  Fortunately，I found my way to improve my English．I’m crazy about music，so I listened to English songs day and night．Mariah Carey,Shayne Ward and Beyonce Knowles are my favourites．And in my leisure time，I watched a lot of DVDs of English movies which I bought on my way to the training school．I used to suppose I was the heroine and knew how to figure thing out！Then I had the confidence to face，to do and to speak out！Although，my English was not perfect，but I was making progress！

  If you’re a girl，I have an extra plan for you．Most ladies are interested in fashion，my advice is，to buy plenty of second-hand English fashion magazines．It costs a little,but you gain a lot．Sooner or later，you’ll find you already know about all kinds of clothes，make-up，jewellery and similar things in English．

  And now，I am going to go to Australia in one month．Learning English has already been an important part of my daily life．

  At the start of this essay，I told you it was an amazing process，and I didn’t say amazing for nothing．At first，you didn’t know anything about English，then you could sing some English songs，finally，you can talk with English-speaking foreigners as easy as you like!And you’ll realise，＂Good Lord，I made it！I knew I could make it！＂

  And don’t worry about making mistakes，just remember，you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs！I wish all of you success in every way！
