How to make student behaved

I am a teacher of a normal school. Our students are those who can not go to senior school. They are not good at anything, they don’t like study, they just do what they want and what they like. Of course, they are some good students.

So as a teacher of our school, especially an English teacher, you must have enough courage and confidence. They don’t like to have ordinary classes, they want to learn what they care. If they don’t care they will do other things in class. So in English classes you can see students reading love novels, sleeping, chatting and so on. So how to make students behaved is very important for having an effective class.

Students in every class is not at the same level. Some are good at math, some are good at Chinese, some are good at physics. But very few are good at English.  So in English class you must have more ways to make your students behaved. Punishment is not the best way to make students obey the rules, but it can really have some effect. Of course here the punishment means not only the physical punish, you can use many ways to punish the students, and sometimes you can call this punishment the “prize”. If anyone who breaks the rules we will give him a chance to give a speech publicly, if he or she does well, we will give him a gift or an extra mark. Sometimes one wants to sleep in class, at this time you can give them a joke or ask them to sing a popular song. Class is not always sitting there reading and writing. I think if you want to make students behaved in your classes, you must make sure the way which you used to teach is not always the same as any other teachers do, you should have your own style. You must make your class interesting and vividly.

So, in other words we can say “how to make students behaved” into “how to make your class interesting and vividly and useful.” If students are interesting in your contents and feel it is useful for their future, they will listen to you lectures consciously. So when you are complaining about the students’ bad behaviors, think about your teaching styles! We also fell asleep sometimes when we were students if we were not interested in the lectures. But can you say you are not good students? Of course you will not, you will say we just sometimes fell asleep, but they always do so. Can you find the reason by yourself? Does that mean that they are not interested in your lecture all the time? So when you are thinking about how to punish the students if they interrupt the class, stop to think that why they did so, is your class not good to them? Or anything else? When will we listen carefully? If you can change the role with your students, maybe you will understand the reason better!

So how to make students behaved is not only the students’ problem, we teachers should find the answers impersonally.
