--My Way of Learning English

I can't remember the first English word I have learned, but I still remember I have done so much in order to learn English well. And I will never forget my way of learning English. It’s full of happiness but hardness, loneliness and misunderstood.

It’s about five years ago, the first year of my middle school, that I began to learn English. But at that time, I had no talent in English and was not interested in it, so I was not good at it.

Until Two years ago, I changed my mind. I began to have great interest in English and promised myself to study English hard. Maybe you want to know why, well, let me tell you. At the first year of high school, in my English text book, there is a lesson named Art and Literature in which we learned something about J.K Rowing and her Harry Potter. I still remember my English teacher telling us a lot about Harry and asking some students to tell Harry’s story. From then on, I became a Harry Potter’s fan and some strange idea crossed my mind. I think, maybe I will meet Rowing one day, I will ask her a lot of questions, so I must learn English very well. I know that idea is quite stupid and may never come true, but you know, sometimes, some stupid ideas can let us do something extraordinary. Therefore, I study English much harder than before, and I also find English is much more interesting than before.

And then I started my real way of studying English. I nearly pour my heart to study English.

Last year, I bought my first English novel. T hat’s my favorite book—Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow (the final Harry Potter book).At first, it's too hard for me to understand, but I have the patience to look up all the new words in a dictionary or online, and try my best to memorize them. That really increases my vocabulary and improves my reading skills.

And in my free time, I always watch CCTV9, which is an English channel. At first I can’t understand what it says, but I still listen to it every day until I can understand it. Now, my listening is improved quite a lot and I believe I can get a full mark in the listening test.

My favorite magazine is Crazy English and it’s like a good friend which helps me learn English better. It has some meaningful articles and some good English songs that are so great. I often read the articles following the tape which has improved my oral English. I also read some English novels every night before going to bed.

Several months ago, I decided to write my diaries in English. Because that gives great help to my English writing. Even though it has so many grammar mistakes, it’s also a good idea to improve my English writing.

Because of great interest in English, I have my own dream. My dream is that I can go to a famous university and then I can study abroad in the future, like Britain, America and some other English-speaking countries. But my mother is always angry about my dream. She says, “Don’t be too quixotic, you should come back to earth.” But I don’t agree with her, I think everyone should have a great dream no matter how far it is. Because a dream is just like a night-house(灯塔), the higher it is, the wider it can guide the ship. I must study very hard. Only in this way, I can make my dream come true.

My way of study English will go on.
